Did you build that cabin? It’s lovely!
Yes! Actually, my best friends and I made it when we were about 14 years old. It was by far the best cabin we had ever made (can you sense the pride we still carry?). We used to spend a lot of time up there in the back woods planning, preparing and building it after school and on the weekends.
It was really neat when my niece and cousins found it and came running home to tell us all about the cabin they found in the woods! They were so excited! I went up to the cabin with them and they asked loads of questions about it, “Who made it?” “Did any boys help you?” “Did you ever sleep up here?” “Are there coyotes around here?”.
While they were asking for stories about what life was like when I was younger, I suddenly realized how my parents and family members must feel when I bombard them with questions and requests for stories…a really neat moment for me!
